We undergo so much of stress because of working for longer hours of days and not having enough time to relax and rest. Relaxing is essential to everyone to have a healthy lifestyle. It’s very hard to find some time to relax when our lives are so busy, working and doing other stuffs. There are few ways you can relieve your stress. Different people usedifferent ways to relieving stress.

Some people smoke as a stress reliever. Cigarettes contain tobacco, tar and nicotine. Cigarettes give out nicotine by the process of combustion. These substances directly go into the lungs and can cause, harmful smoking related problems. Even though it’s a way of relieving stress, it can cause more harmful effects. Nicotine is a chemical which can activate receptors in the brain, these receptors cause the increased release of dopamine. This dopamine can make people feel good. This is how people find smoking addicting and feel good. Smoking to a certain limit is okay, but it’s essential to know the limit.

Some people have sex, consider it as a method of reliving their stress. While having sex and during an orgasm, the brain releases two chemical substances called dopamine and oxytocin. Thesechemicals act on the part of brain which activates the feel good centers on the brain. Oxytocin increases the attachment towards one other. Dopamine gives the feel of feeling good here as well. Furthermore, when people don’t have partners they get orgasms using sex toys, which can also increase the amount of dopamine.

Some people use alcohol as their mode of reliving stress. People who consume alcohol get addicted to alcohol very quickly. Alcohol can increase the amount of dopamine in the brain. As mentioned above, the increased amount of dopamine makes a person feel good. In alcohol, there can be other products secreted apart from dopamine. These substances can be harmful to the brain. Alcohol is too addictive, and the level it tolerance increases for the first few days. So, a person can consume more alcohol and the more amount of other harmful substances are produced too. This is capable of leading to alcohol dependence, and finally, it’s unable to quit without professional help. It’s okay got take a small amount of alcohol with a limit. When limits are exceeded it can be harmful.

It is important to relive thestress we have. But we should also think about other harmful effects of these habits. Reliving stress is vital for our mental health. While considering mental health, it is not a good idea to do harm to the physical health. So think smart.
